HOW CAN PHYSIOTHERAPY
Physiotherapy is a healthcare profession concerned with human function, movement and maximising potential.
It sees human movement as central to the health and well-being of individuals.
As a physiotherapist we will identify and maximise movement potential through health promotion, preventive healthcare treatment and rehabilitation.
We work with the core skills including manual therapy, therapeutic exercise and the application of electro therapy.
We also have an appreciation of psychological, cultural and social factors, which influence our clients.
I have been working in general physiotherapy for 30 years. Recently this has been with ocupational health in my full time job. Now I am independant and my treatments are domiciliary. I am willing to travel and find treating the client at home aids their recovery, especially if they are in pain and find travelling difficult. I can be flexable and sessions can be in the day or the evening, working around the clients other commitments.
Intially I will carry out a full assessment.
My treatments then can be:
I will then produce a stretching and exercise program if nessisary, to enable the client to return to normal activites.
Marion has been supporting residents within Values in Care for the last 3 years, her commitment to the residents has been excellent. She works well with the staff teams and will devise programmes and plans for staff to follow to additionally support the residents in between their treatments for consistency and to further progress the resident’s development. Values in Care support residents who have very complex needs and Marion is skilled in supporting individuals who can be very challenging on times. Marion continues to support people who live in Values in Care’s homes as and when requested and she will always accommodate in an expedient way if an assessment is required urgently.
Having experienced severe back and neck pain due to a car accident several months ago.I received home visits from Marion Edwards physiotherapist. The treatment and service i received was of an exceptionally high standard, she was very flexible and worked around days and times to suit me.I never thought id ever get better!. However with her caring, and encouraging nature along side her professional skills, i am well on my way to a full recovery.
I received treatment on my neck for a whiplash injury following a car accident. I received ultra sound, massage and ice treatment plus a comprehensive exercise programme. I would not hesitate to use Marion again if needed and would also recommend her to anyone. I now have full movement in my neck and shoulder thanks to Marion.
Marion helped me following a car accident where I sustained whiplash. She is understanding and informative with her treatments. She is able to listen to and understand the type of pain you are suffering and has been very proactive in offering pain relief through massage and ultrasound supported by excercises.
